About Ruben Dario
Ruben Dario is a mixed media artist from Venezuela, currently based in New York City. His artistic journey began at just five years old, using lines, colors, and textures to convey emotions, express struggles, and explore his identity. Growing up in a conservative society with limited resources, Ruben found art to be his escape, transforming challenges into a powerful visual language that connects deeply with others.
Bold and Vibrant
Self-taught and determined, Ruben’s work is rooted in his heritage and personal experiences, blending influences from artists like Miró, Dalí, and Jesús Soto with a style uniquely his own. His pieces often feature bold lines and vibrant color palettes, drawing the viewer into an interplay of geometric shapes and textures. Every piece tells a story of transformation—expressing the spiritual and emotional journey of breaking boundaries, evolving identity, and love.
Ruben’s art is not just a personal expression; it’s a medium through which he aims to inspire others, particularly children in need. Having founded the "Creating Light in the Darkness" foundation, Ruben dedicates his efforts to giving back to children in Venezuela, empowering them to find their own voice through creative expression. With a growing presence in the international art scene, Ruben is dedicated to leaving a lasting mark in the world of art, while simultaneously uplifting those who need it most.
